    Rebellion has confirmed the purchase of Core Design from owners Eidos is now complete. Although Eidos will retain the Core Design name, the studio, its assets and workforce will begin trading under Rebellion (Derby) Ltd.

    According to a statement on the official Core Design web site, the company that gave birth to cyber heroine Lara Croft is still very much trading. What's more, they've promised exciting announcements on future development.

    British publisher Eidos - the company assimilated into SCi Entertainment Group earlier this year - has hammered the final nail into the coffin of Core Design by selling off the Derbyshire-based studio and moved towards opening a new studio in Sweden, trade paper MCV reports this morning.

    Eidos and Core Design have released the first trailer for Free Running, a forthcoming video-game for Sony PSP based around the urban sport of Parkour. Parkour, the art of movement, is less a sport and more a way of life. Its participants, known as Free Runners or Traceurs, view the environment and its obstacles, urban or natural, as a series of challenges to be overcome.
