ANGELINA JOLIE VISITS KOSOVO WITH NATO

Angelina Jolie visited with Kosovo's minority community, along with NATO peacekeepers and local leaders, during a three-day visit to the troubled region. The Oscar-winning actress, who is a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, said she was troubled by the conditions of minorities there. People think that when a war is over, everything goes back to normal, Jolie said Monday, after her visit concluded. But in Kosovo, the security situation remains questionable for minorities.

UIP SCORES LICENSING DEAL IN UKRAINE

United International Pictures has scored an exclusive licensing deal to distribute its films in Ukraine via firm B&H, cutting our former middle-man East West Creative Associates, Variety Magazine reports. Pics on the 2003 role-call include Par's The Cradle Of Life: Tomb Raider 2 starring Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie returning as buxom gunslinger Lara Croft. We very much value the relationship we have with East West and this change is simply a reflection of the growth of the business in (the) Ukraine and our preference, wherever possible, to deal directly with local players, said Julian Stanford, UIP's senior VP of European sales.

TELEVISION AWARDS PUSHES THE ENVELOPE

Alert the Hollywood trophy-makers: TV Thursday added two more award shows to the seemingly endless schedule of programs built around the best or most popular this or that. TNN said it will launch the New TNN Video Game Awards late next year, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced plans for its first national Latin Emmy Awards, to be shown on Spanish-language networks in June.

JOLIE SPLASHES OUT ON NEW LONDON HOME

Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie has splashed out £4000 on punk rock memorabilia for her new swanky London home. The purchases include six original Sex Pistols photos by Jamie Read, Sky News reports today. Jolie, currently shooting Par's Tomb Raider sequel The Cradle Of Life, was spotted at Tom Tom, a retro shop specializing in memorabilia from the 1960's and 1970's. As assistant said Jolie was styling her new house with various collectors items and requested they be shipped to Pinewood Studios to keep her address a secret.
