EIDOS PLC ACQUIRES IO INTERACTIVE STUDIO

Eidos, one of the world’s leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, announces that it has reached agreement to acquire IO Interactive, the Danish based studio responsible for the hugely successful Hitman franchise. The acquisition of IO secures the future rights of the Hitman series and significantly strengthens Eidos’ European creative base and development resource. In addition, the deal will facilitate the use of IO’s leading edge technology platform across the Group, which will play a key role in the development of next generation titles. Hitman: Contracts, the third instalment in the multi-million unit selling series, will be released on April 30th for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.

Directed by D.J. Caruso and produced by Mark Canton and Bernie Goldmann, Taking Lives is a screen story and screenplay by Jon Bokenkamp, based on the novel by Michael Pye. Bruce Berman, Dana Goldberg and David Heyman are the executive producers; Alan C. Blomquist is co-producer.

MARCUS - GONE IN LESS THAN 60 SECONDS

I'm Marcus Trogen from Sweden, and have been active in terms of music production since 1995. I tend to be creative and very imaginative. I've been a fan of Tomb Raider for some time, and the idea to start releasing tunes on the next came as I was playing the games. At the time, the popular site The Croft Times had published the first fan made tune Adventurer, by Nicolas Bellardie. If he can do it, I thought, then so can I. A few months later, I released my first tune Dance Raider to the Internet community. The tune became very popular among fans, and spawned a series of tunes; it gave me the spark to continue releasing more Tomb Raider related music. More recently, I also started releasing original tunes.

WARREN SPECTOR TO LEAD TOMB RAIDER 7?

Legendary game designer Warren Spector has been tapped to lend a hand in producing the forthcoming Tomb Raider video game currently under development by U.S. based studio Crystal Dynamics, fuelling rumours of a collaboration between Ion Storm Entertainment and the studio charged with the immeasurable task of restoring order and prosperity back into the Tomb Raider franchise.
