EIGF ANNOUNCES GAMES SCREENING TIMING

The Edinburgh International Games Festival has announced a full line-up of Game Screening items for this year's event, which takes place from Wednesday 11th August through to Saturday 14th August. The Game Screenings programme is designed to give the public an insight into upcoming games and some enduring classics, as well as an opportunity to quiz their creators - and this year's programme will see three new titles premiering at the event.

IAIN GLEN AWARDED HONORARY DEGREE

Scots Hollywood star Iain Glen will be awarded an degree by his alma mater. The Edinburgh-born actor will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of Aberdeen. The 43-year-old appeared opposite Nicole Kidman in the West End production of The Blue Room and his film credits include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Gorillas in the Mist.

JOLIE AWARDED CAMBODIAN CITIZENSHIP

The US hollywood star Angelina Jolie said here Tuesday that she is proud and honored that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will give her a Cambodian citizenship. He (Hun Sen) did mention to give me a Cambodian citizenship and I am very honored, Jolie told reporters after she met with Hun Sen on Tuesday. So I am sure and I am moving forward to actually receiving that, she said. Jolie discussed on Tuesday with Prime Minister Hun Sen about the environment protection issues in Cambodia's Samlot area where she has a home there.
