EIDOS PLC ANNOUNCES TRADING UPDATE

Eidos plc, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, today provides an update on trading during the six month period ended December 31, 2003. The Company has continued to make good progress in the achievement of its strategic objectives, which will result in operating profits for the period well ahead of the comparable period last year, though below some market expectations. The Board's full year operating profit expectations remain unchanged.

EIDOS PLC WARNS OF MODEST SHORTFALLS

British publisher Eidos Plc has warned first-half operating profits are expected to fall short of market forecasts as a result of poor performance on some titles, but claims the figures will be well ahead of the year-earlier period and boasts increased gross margins and positive cash inflow coupled with a strong cash balance. The profit warning shaved 8% from Eidos' share price on the London Stock Market.

HEATH-SMITH'S ANNOUNCE CIRCLE STUDIO

Core Design co-founders Jeremy Heath-Smith and Adrian Heath-Smith have announced the formation of a brand new studio based in Derby called Circle Studio. A further 35 former employees of Core Design have joined Circle Studio and are negotiating two brand new titles for current and next generation platforms.

EIDOS PLC CEO LAYS OUT BLEAK FUTURE

Speaking with the Financial Times recently in an article about the difficulties facing European development studios, Eidos CEO Mike McGarvey has outlined a difficult future for small developers with only one or two teams. A studio of about 150 people, split into three teams, is about the ideal size, McGarvey commented, and it's hard to see how it makes sense for the cottage industry types. They may have more of a future in post-production as a service-based business.

EIDOS ANNOUNCES HITMAN: CONTRACTS

Eidos, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, today announced the eagerly awaited return of the world's deadliest assassin in Hitman: Contracts. The game is the third installment in the critically acclaimed, multi-million selling Hitman series. Hitman: Contracts is being developed by Io Interactive and will be available for PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, and PC in spring 2004.
